2Pac Friday
25 August 2023
I had tentative plans to hang out with someone on Saturday, whom I did want to see again before she left town. In order to confirm those tentative plans, I channeled my inner2Pac, asking her “Are you still down […]?”
Sure, the spelling wasn’t the same as the classic 2Pac song, “R U Still Down?” and it it did contain the parenthetical statement “(Remember Me)” included in the full name of the song, which doubles as the title for this, the first of many posthumously-released 2Pac albums R U Still Down? (Remember Me) , but the effect was the same: we did hang out.
In other words, while this vague simple story may seem rather lame to some, the point is: if you want to confirm plans, channel your inner 2Pac of this song, channel the inner 2Pac energy, and your plans will be confirmed. You want someone to remember your for some reason, channel your inner 2Pac. You want your weekend to start off on the right foot and go in a positive direction, start it off the right way with a 2Pac Friday.
Conversely, if your weekend does not go as planned, you can always reflect and ask yourself, “Did I do everything I could have done to celebrate the 2Pac Friday appropriately? Was I paying full attention when I was listening to the featured SLP 2Pac Friday song? Could I have listened to more 2Pac songs, but instead let YouTube or a another streaming service somehow lead me astray with their algorithms to a Justin Bieber track? Have I been the best person I can be?”
In other words, “R U Still Down?” for all of the things you believe, for all of the things you still should be down for? It starts with you, by making sure you have a center in your life, an anchor, a stabilizing force. It could be comprised of many things. It should be comprised many things. But one of those things, one of the core elements, should be 2Pac Friday. Don’t forget 2Pac Friday. Remember it. That starts today with listening to “R U Still Down? (Remember Me)”.
The answer is yes.
